Theory of Moral development , Lawrence kohlberg

It is most important topic From the percepective of teaching exam pedagogy. Lawrence kohlberg gives a theory of Moral dilemmas. (नैतिक दुविधा)

 He has made a systematic study of Moral development in his theory that is Categorized into 3 levels and 6 stages 

He described the child as a moral philosopher and created moral development theory by passing moral dilemmas to group of children. 

According to Kohlberg moral dilemma is the  thinking process involved in judgments about question of right and wrong.

The table given below shows his theory of Moral development. 

Level-1 Stage-1 Stage-2
Pre-conventional Morality The obedience and punishment orientation ( सजा से बचने के द्वारा संचालित व्यवहार) Individualism and exchange orientation- behaviour driven by self interest and rewards.
Level-2 Stage-3 Stage-4
conventional Morality Good boy and nice girl orientation. Behaviour driven by social approval. The law and order orientation. ( अधिकार का पालन करने और सामाजिक व्यवस्था के अनुरुप आचरण)
Level-3 Stage-5 Stage-6
Post-conventional Morality Social contract legalistic orientation. Behaviour driven by a balance of social order and individual rights. Universal ethical principle orientation. Behavior driven by internal moral principle.
